Boston Red Sox David Ortiz âFenway Farewellâ Panoramic (Framed) Description
David Ortiz, or ‘Big Papi’ as he is affectionately known, was pretty much THE MAN in Boston for over a decade. The popular first baseman/designated hitter from the Dominican Republic signed with the Red Sox as a free agent in January 2003. In his first season in Boston, he had 39 doubles, 31 homers, and 101 RBIs. Big Papi was just getting started. Of course the next year all he did was lead the team to its first World Series Championship in 86 years with a .301 average, 41 home runs, and 139 RBIs. In the 2004 ALCS David hit .387 with 3 homers and 11 RBIs and was named the MVP of Boston’s stunning 4-3 series victory over the hated Yankees. In 2007, Ortiz helped lead the Red Sox to their seventh World Series title. Despite playing the entire season with multiple injuries, Ortiz finished the year with 35 home runs and 117 RBIs while batting .332. And in 2013, Big Papi and Boston did it again winning their 3rd World Series Championship in 10 years with David winning World Series MVP Honors while hitting a crazy .688 with 2 round-trippers. And, of course, that year they clinched in Fenway making it even more special. Speaking of Fenway, check out this amazing Panoramic Photo Print of David batting in his final regular season game and at-bat at Fenway. Under an overcast October sky, Big Papi came to the plate and the Fenway crowd showed their appreciation (check out the tribute in the outfield stands!). SGA Quality Framed in wood moulding, this beauty is the perfect collectible and Sports Art to celebrate David, Fenway, and the Red Sox. A great and unique gift for any Sox fan!
